Support
Something broken, a question, or a room that won't connect? Write to support@zangyo.app and tell us your phone model and what happened. We answer within a few days.
The short version
No account and no ads. We don't track you, and we sell nothing about you. To run online rooms, the daily puzzle and the scoreboard, the game sends a few things to our own server at zangyo.app:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A random ID made on your device (not your name, phone number or Apple ID) | So the room and the scoreboard know it's you coming back |
| The nickname you pick (optional) | Shown to the other players in your room and on the scoreboard |
| Your game results: round wins in a row, daily puzzles solved, and the date | The global streak scoreboard |
| The arrows you place during an online round | To play the round with your friends. Nothing is kept after the round. |
| Name reports: the name you flag, your random ID and where you saw it | To review names and hide one that two different players report |
| Your internet address (IP), as with any website | To deliver the game and keep the server safe. Cloudflare handles it for us; we don't store it. |
| Anonymous daily counts (for example "12 rounds finished today") | To see what works in the game. These counts hold no ID and nothing that points to you. |
Everything else stays on your device (in the game's local storage, no cookies): your settings, stars, streak history and colour. Daily puzzle reminders are scheduled on your phone; we don't send push notifications.
Why we may use it
To run the game you chose to play: online rooms, the daily puzzle and the scoreboard (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The anonymous counts, the name filter and the reports serve our legitimate interest in keeping the game working, fair and safe (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The daily reminder only runs after your phone asks you for permission.
Where it lives
The server runs on Cloudflare, Inc., which processes the data on our behalf. That can include servers outside the EU, such as in the United States; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses the EU standard contractual clauses. We keep scoreboard entries and reports for as long as the scoreboard exists, and we don't sell or share them with anyone else. There are no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools in the game.
Children
The game asks for no personal information. Nicknames are shown publicly, so please don't use your real full name.
Names and reports
Nicknames pass a word filter. If you see a name that shouldn't be there, tap ⚑ next to it (on the scoreboard or after an online round): it disappears for you right away, and we review it. You can also write to abuse@zangyo.app.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted, handed over, or no longer used. Write to privacy@zangyo.app with your nickname and we'll answer within a month. To remove your scoreboard entry, that's all it takes. Deleting the app (or clearing the site's data in your browser) removes everything stored on your device.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: ours is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (aki.ee), or use the one where you live.
